This safe was handcrafted from a genuine brass post office box door manufactured in 1958. The date is stamped on the inside of the door.
The body of the safe is ash with red/yellow/blue dyed maple veneer inlays on the top and sides.
Because of the inlays, John did not put the typical coin slot in the top and made it into a safe instead.
Each post office door box comes with the combination and instructions. (Click here to view instructions.)
The number on the glass of this box is new, as the original was too faded/damaged to save.
We do have some doors that have the original number more or less intact - contact us if you want a box with an original number.
We can also put a different number (up to 4 digits) on the door of this box - some people want their old box number or birth year, for example.

Instructions for Combination Lock

1 - Turn dial 2 full turns to the right (clockwise) to clear lock.

2 - Continue turning right and go to first combination*.

3 - Turn to the left (counterclockwise) PAST the second

combination, then continue to the left to the second combination.

4 - Turn to the right to the third combination (do not go past it).

5 - Turn key to the left to open.

6 - Push door firmly to close (you may have to

turn the key to the left to close).

*If the combination shows 2 letters together,

place pointer between them.
